CONSTRUCTION

Energy DepartmentOnvico, Inc is directly involved in energy efficient construction in the home, schools, hospitals, and any project that may be needed. Our goal is to bring forth the future of building to help clients receive the best product for their money. We work with Energy Star to make sure that buildings are inspected for efficiency so the customer can save money, live comfortable, and build green.

We have partnered with the Department of Energy and their Home Challenge and will be following all guidelines set in the 2015 energy codes for home building. We are working hard to expand the outreach of building with EPS paneling which has a better R value for insulation and has greater structural integrity than a stick frame home. The homes we build are termite proof, able to withstand winds in excess of 150+ mph, have less outgassing than a standard home so is safer for the lungs, are safer in a home fire, and will save electricity because of better insulation and use of a smaller AC unit.

For more information on why you should use us to build your home or supply your contractor with building materials or just to find out more information about what we offer fill out a request in the contact form and we will get back with you.

    The charging station

Due to the increased demand for electric cars on the road we recognize that there will be a need for more design and development in this field. The charging station is only the first step as we explore new technologies outside of construction.

    Disaster Relief Shelterst

Natural disasters are devastating with the loss of home and personal possessions. In shock, people don't know where to turn. Onvico understands their loss and has responded in developing a one-bedroom, one bath shelter made from polystyrene and steel framing.

Onvico, Inc. has teamed with the DOE Home Challenge to build an energy efficient home that meets the upcoming 2015 Codes. The two-story house has over 3100 sf on the bottom floor and 1500 sf on the second story. Using steel and polystyrene panels for the shell and roof panels that have an R-36 value, Onvico will lower the energy bills and thus decrease the carbon footprint.

By teaming with Energy Star, utilizing a ductless zoned HVAC system and using solar panels for hot water usage, Onvico will build this for the next generation of energy efficient homes. Kilowatt usage will be displayed on the website as well as comparable energy bills from a traditional stick-frame home.

We invite you to view the structure either in person or through video on our website as the house is built. We welcome your questions and are happy to provide additional information concerning energy efficient construction.

Construction ProjectOnvico Inc is working on a project for energy efficient housing for homeless veterans to help them get back on their feet. The start to this project will be a housing unit that looks and feels like a miniature hotel. Each individual will have a separate room with small necessities and will be able to congregate at a common dining area It is even hoped that as the project expands we can train and help individuals using the program so they can work on the projects.

Natural disasters are devastating with the loss of home and personal possessions. In shock, people don’t know where to turn. Onvico understands their loss and has responded in developing a one-bedroom, one bath shelter made from polystyrene and steel framing. The shelters are to be lightweight, strong, energy efficient, and comfortable. They are designed to be permanent structures and may be either incorporated into the building of the new home or may stand alone as a guest house. We are in the process of working with both FEMA and U.S.AID in bringing the shelters to those in need both in the United States and abroad.

THERMAL PANELS

Recent ProjectThermal panels lend themselves well in commercial construction. They go up quickly as both framing and insulation in each panel. Their tensile strength renders the structures nearly impervious to most natural disasters including hurricane force winds up to 150+ mph.

Panels also have acoustic value which are ideal for hotels and apartment buildings. Fire code requires a 15 minute breakthrough. Panels have a one-hour breakthrough and give off fewer toxic fumes than wood smoke making them ideal for construction of nursing homes, hospitals, hotels and other commercial buildings."
